red

Dress: JCrew (similar here) | Dot Tights: jcp (old, similar here) | Booties: Target | Bag: Steven by Steve Madden | Jewelry: Madewell

I've been looking for a great red dress that is wearable for work and play. This little number was a steal on clearance...and I love the pockets. A simple dress like this can always be styled various ways by adding different jewelry or even playful tights. I did a little of both this time around.

dot to dot

Shirt: Gap (old, similar here) | Skirt: JCrew | Shoes: Nine West | Jewelry: Givenchy, Madewell

Polka dots everywhere. The polka dot is a major trend going on right now. I love pairing different versions together similar to what I have done here. The key is to make sure the two sizes and colorations do not fight each other. To make it simple, I stayed within the same color family and made sure my polka dots were two different sizes. Be daring and try out your own version!

fair isle + fringe

Sweater: Madewell | Cords: Madewell | Fringe Boots: Target (similar here) | Bag: Steven by Steve Madden | Jewelry: JewelMint

I love a good fair isle sweater....the color, the texture....all so amazing. This particular sweater is one of my favorites of the season, and I am pretty sure I wear it on a weekly basis.

My little fringe booties have also been an obsession as well. I was able to find them at Target for a great bargain...inspiration coming from a very similar Sam Edelman pair. Being from Texas, I love the western feel. Will definitely see these on my feet through early spring.

Tunic

Tunic Top: Free People | Coated Jeans: Express | Boots: Nine West | Jewelry: JewelMint

Free People is one of my favorite brands. I love the bohemian look and always look to them for inspiration. More to come on some of my current obsessions from them.

Flutter

Blouse: Gap (old) | Skirt: Zara (similar here) | Boots: Bakers (old, similar here) | Tights: DKNY | Jewelry: JewelMint, Michael Kors watch

It is always fun to try out new silhouettes. I found this adorable skirt at Zara and just love the flutter trim. It is great for someone, like myself, who has more muscular thighs and want to down-play them. Usually an A-line silhouette is best, but this little number gives me a figure hugging waist combined with a fuller hem. Love! What do you think?

Teen Spirit

Letterman Sweater: Vintage | Jeans: Gap | Belt: JCrew | Sneakers: Steve Madden | Skull Clutch: Zara | Jewelry: JewelMint

What's old becomes new again. The varsity jacket as been a trend for this BTS season and will continue forward into spring. I decided to go vintage on this style and pulled my dad's old Letterman sweater from his high school days to create this look. Since the sweater was a little too big, I utilized a simple belt to define my waist...gives it a good "boyfriend" look. Go check out your parent's closet to get some inspiration. You might run into some true treasures!

Layers

Jacket: Zara | Tank: Zara | Jeans: Lucky Brand | Shoes: Target | Jewelry: JewelMint

With spring just around the corner, I love to start introducing more bright pops of color. Our weather here has been extremely crazy; going from a beautiful 70 degrees to a frigid 39 degrees overnight. It is crazy! And of course completely impossible to plan out what I want to wear. So when in this predicament, layering pieces are always key. This jacket is definitely one of my favorites because of the tailoring. The peplum trend is not only great on tops but works wonders in jackets, as seen here, and dresses.

Golden Globes

Awards season has begun, and my favorite thing to do is watch the red carpet to see what everyone is wearing. The Golden Globes aired this past Sunday, and I have pulled together some of my favorite looks from the evening.
Love the long sleeves and gold details on Kate Hudson's black frock.

The tailoring on this is really fantastic. Pattern is different though eye-catching.
The bead-work is amazing...and I love how the beading comes to a V, creating a slim silhouette.

Amy Adams looks so beautiful in this dress. I love the cut, color, and her hair. My personal favorite of the evening.

So much sex appeal with Katharine McPhee's dress.

Prints + Peplum

Peplum Top: Zara | Cardigan: Gap | Trousers: Zara | Shoes: Cosmopolitan | Jewelry: F21, JewelMint | Bag: Steven by Steve Madden

This outfit contains two of my favorite fashion trends: printed pants and peplum tops. The wonderful part about this peplum top is the intricate jacquard pattern and leather details. So amazing! And then of course an outfit is not complete without some serious jewels. I love to get this style of costume jewelry for an affordable price, and these earrings were a lucky find at F21. Definitely a completer piece.

Best of 2012

A little late on this, but these are my favorite looks of 2012...

Hope everyone has a great 2013!!!

Blazer Love

Blazer: Zara | Turtleneck: Mossimo | Jeans: Madewell | Boots: Andiamo | Jewelry: JewelMint, Madewell | Bag: Steven by Steve Madden

I've been pushing myself to invest in more layering pieces, especially blazers. Most people who know me know that I am a cardigan girl through and through. So it has been hard to break those chains. This blazer is very out-there with the crazy print, but I loved it at first sight. It can be worn as a focus piece by playing down the rest of the outfit in basic black. I've also pulled it together with other prints to make a fun mixed-print look. The best thing about the blazer is the tuxedo trim...very of-the-moment. When shopping, look for interesting tuxedo styled blazers or pants to update your look.
