Altuzarra

Dress: Altuzarra | Heels: Zara (old) | Bag: Steven by Steve Madden

With computer difficulties and being out of town my posts are very delayed. This is one of my favorite looks from the Altuzarra x Target launch. Simple, menswear inspiration that will be perfect for layering into the chilly fall season.

Printed

Blazer: Zara (old, similar here and here) | Tank: JCrew (old, fun option here) | Jeans: KUT from the Kloth (similar here) | Heels: Nine West (similar here) | Bag: Steven by Steven Madden | Jewelry: F21 ring

Pinstripe

Top: ASTR (old, similar here) | Pants: Target (old, similar look here and here) | Shoes: Zara | Clutch: Nine West | Jewelry: Kendra Scott ring

Menswear inspiration is in the air. I love how designers are making slouchy boyfriend looks still look feminine.

Over-Sized

Sweater: Express | Skirt: Target (old, similar here and here) | Heels: Sam Edelman x Target (similar here) | Jewelry: Banana Republic ring

Sneak peek into my key look for fall: over-sized sweaters and skirts.  I love feeling engulfed in tops during the winter months so will probably snatch up all kinds of chunky boyfriend sweaters I can find. This was an early fall grab I found at Express. Obsessed with the zipper detail and high-low hem. Might have to go back for seconds (or thirds) in different shades.

Palette Cleanse

Sweater: JCrew | Pants: Zara (old, similar here) | Sandals: Zara | Clutch: Nine West | Jewelry: Kendra Scott ring

It has been a palette cleanse for our house this past week. We finally gave in and bought a much needed new mattress, and decided to upgrade to a king since we typically sleep four (2 humans, 2 boxer dogs). So with that comes a need for all new bed linens. A process I have a love-hate relationship with...always excited to redesign but loath that I can't find what I want on a budget.

In the spirit of starting fresh, my clothing mimics my attitude with a neutral palette cleanse.

P.S. Larger bed doesn't mean more space. My terrible two still like to snuggle me right off the bed. :)

Read-Watch-Listen

When the fall season comes around each year, I always think of it as a time for new beginnings and discovery of yourself and your surroundings. With fall just around the corner, today's Read-Watch-Listen circles around that theme of discovery.

READ

Arranged by Catherine McKenzie was probably my favorite summer read this year. It is a story of a 30 something girl who fails consistently in love. She discovers a service for arranged marriages and decides to forgo the norm and venture down a unique path to find love. A few plot twists in this page turner as you follow Anne through trials of finding her future. A must read that I can't stop raving about.

WATCH

Selfie is new to TV this fall. I'll be honest and say that the previews do no do this justice. It was a show I had planned to pass on, but currently you can digitally preview the pilot and the show is not at all what I thought it would be. Nothing else on, so why not? With the crazy digital/technology age we are in, it is about time to have a show that pokes fun at how poor we have become as a society in communicating person-to-person. It has a strong parallel to "My Fair Lady" that is transformed into current situations. Check it out now online or wait for the premiere later this month.

LISTEN

I am not sure how I came across Olafur Arnalds, but upon first listen I have been obsessed. For the most part, his music is purely instrumental. But there is something about a song without words that can feed your soul. It is my go to on days where I just need a breathe of fresh air. "Living Room Songs" is the first record I discovered from him, but really all of his work is excellent. Available on iTunes...check it out!

Boho

Top: Band of Gypsies (similar here) | Shorts: Vintage Levi (similar here) | Sandals: Topshop | Jewelry: Kendra Scott and Express rings, Dogeared necklace

I have always had a strong connection with the bohemian look. I love the drape and untethered feel of the style. So when I am feeling that mood, I usually drift towards Band of Gypsies pieces. The brand puts together beautiful silhouettes in the perfect fabrics and color scheme to accentuate the item. Perfection!

Bliss

Dress: Kimchi Blue | Jewelry: Express and Kendra Scott rings

It is the perfect start to the holiday: beautiful morning, cool breeze (explains the crazy hair). I love when I can drink my morning coffee sitting out on the patio with my dogs. Completely peaceful.

Old fashion rules dictated that white was not acceptable after Labor Day. But that has become less important year after year with the emergence of winter white. I wear shades of white year round but regardless it felt like the perfect day to pull out this amazing dress.

Hope everyone enjoys the holiday!
