Current Obsession: Pop Wrap

My favorite designer of all time, DVF, has done an exclusive collaboration with Andy Warhol called Pop Wrap. It is on another level, so amazing, and the best start to 2014. Check out some of my favorite looks below.

Also, DVF is celebrating an amazing 40 years of a wrap dress. If you are in the LA area, you should definitely swing by the exhibit at the Wilshire May Company Building. It will be available until April, and I hear it is fantastic! Wish I could travel to see it.

Red Inspiration

Dress: JCrew | Cardigan: JCrew | Boots: Steve Madden | Clutch: Michael Kors | Jewelry: JewelMint

Already the shelves are filled with Valentine's day goodies; giving you a full month to prepare. All I end up doing is spending the month eating ridiculous amounts of chocolate and then hating myself for not sticking to my resolution of eating better. It is a vicious cycle that probably will never end. What can I say? My heart is made of Dove milk chocolate. :)
I digress to the look for today which is of course RED in the spirit of Valentine's day. Yes, a month early but I felt inspired by all the lovely red and pink displays today. Have a good one!

Dream of Spring

Top: Madewell | Sweater: Old Navy | Skirt: ASOS | Shoes: Nasty Gal | Jewelry: JewelMint, Madewell | Clutch: Nine West

After the bitter cold we've been having, it was nice to get a slight break with weather in the 60s. It had me screaming for spring clothing with flouncy skirts and bright color combinations. Winter, I am a fickle friend. I yearn for you to get here during our blazing hot summer months, yet I feel like you overstay your welcome and I'm so ready to see you leave way before it is due. If it could just be a great 60-85 degrees year around, I would be very happy. Guess I need to move further west for that experience.

His

Sweater: jcpenney (men's) | Jeans: Madewell (old) | Heels: Shoe Cult | Jewelry: Banana Republic, Madewell

Looking through your closet and can't find anything to wear? What is a girl to do? Peruse through her husband's side of the closet of course! Didn't make that jump with me? ;) That's ok.
Weekends for me are all about being cozy right now. Instead of buying an over sized sweater for myself, I decided to just wear the man's sweater instead. This look might not be for everyone, but if you are looking for something menswear inspired; don't forget to check out the mens or boys section of a store. Boyfriend shirts, blazers, belts are all just a starting point for some amazing finds. And if you're lucky enough to fit into boys sized clothing, then you might have just saved some $$ too!

Business or Party

Jacket: F21 | Sweater: Express (old) | Pants: Zara | Heels: GoJane | Jewelry: Madewell | Clutch: Michael Kors

This turtleneck has a little business in the front - party in the back action going on. Which of course is why I like it so much. Who would have thought a little cut out in the back of a sweater could be so interesting?

Reading Corner: The Longest Ride

Book: The Longest Ride
Author: Nicholas Sparks
Rating: 3 out of 5

The Notebook, A Walk to Remember, The Lucky One, Safe Haven...the list could go on and on of the many books written by Nicholas Sparks. I am sure you have heard of at least one of these; maybe only as a movie, but I promise they were books first. Each of his books walk you through a rainbow of emotions from happy to sad to hope to anger; all at the end leaving you with a good heartfelt message. I usually am beyond excited when another book of his comes out, but this latest edition is not one of my favorites. Maybe it is because I have gotten used to his style of writing but I already knew where the story was leading before it got there. In The Longest Ride there are really two story lines occurring simultaneously, and of course at some point they merge together as can be expected. Why else would an author do that? If you are a Spark-plug, then I am sure you have already picked this up. If not, start with one of the aforementioned titles first.
