The Vintage House

This past weekend I had the opportunity to join my fellow Dallas bloggers for an event hosted by the Dallas Blogger Collective and The Vintage House; an adorable shop in Carrollton.  This is the first time I have attended one of their events, and it was so great to meet all the lovely ladies who have a passion similar to mine. We drank watermelon tea, snacked on cookies and cake, shopped, chatted and a few won amazing goodies from Vera Bradley and Kendra Scott throughout the afternoon. I was a pleasure to be a part of the event. I look forward to the next time!

It's a Wrap

Short gladiator sandals are becoming my go-to option for summer. Easy to wear and go with everything. I had been coveting a few really expensive styles, but leave it to Old Navy to bring some comparable options at an affordable price. Their summer sandals match the trends of the moment and they are very comfortable. Grab them before their gone!

The military trend never really goes away...just becomes softer or more apparent within the market place. Lately the trend is very noticeable with shades of olive and khaki, utility pockets, and side seam stripe detail on trousers. In a way, military influenced items are almost a basic as they can be worn season to season and styled differently for a casual or dressed up combination. If you don't already have a utility pocket shirt in your wardrobe, I strongly suggest this AE option. It is boyfriend style in the softest fabric. So comfortable you could sleep in it. I might need it in all colors!

My birthday was this past week, and my sister decided to come visit for a few days. Always exciting and fun to have her around. She is the perfect partner to go exploring with and bounce ideas off of for fun, creative projects. We did a little antique hunting and then strolled through historic downtown McKinney. Such an amazing area for unique shops and restaurants. I don't know why I haven't taken the hike over there sooner.
One of our new favorite places is the Mom and Popcorn Company. The shop is adorable with barrels of classic candy, sodas in glass bottles, and a plethora of unique popcorn flavors to pick from. Our go-to was a mix of white cheddar and sea salt & cracked pepper. The best part is that you can order online to share with your friends and family. Check them out here. I definitely will be a repeat customer! :)

I think I fell in love with AE Outfitters all over again this past week. They used to be my go-to for price friendly boho styled items, but for the past several years I felt like they had lost their way. Their first summer set is on trend in my book with crochet, lace, flares, and maxis galore. Simple casual style with the right kind of bohemian edge I am always looking for. Who's ready for summer?! :)
